Friday January 27 PA Day Shinny for 13 and under crowd

The City has kindly changed its schedule for PA day to give the kids some ice time for shinny. Mark your calendars- 13 and under shinny is from 9-12noon. Please wear a helmet.

SKATING PARTY ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 3rd 6:30-8:30 pm

Join us at the Withrow Rink for the 2nd annual Friends of Withrow Park Skating Party! 

Skating, music and hot chocolate at the Withrow rink. This is a free neighbourhood event for all ages
during public skate time.
Don't forget to bring your mug for the hot chocolate!

Change to Holiday Skating Schedule for under 13 Shinny

Just a quick note to let you know that the Withrow Park rink schedule has been changed for Friday January 6.  From 9-noon on Friday January 6 there will be shinny for kids under the age of 13.   Enjoy!

A Beautiful Holiday Sing-a-Long...Next is a Skating Party February 4

It was another great Withrow Park campfire evening.  We had a great crowd and it was a wonderful kick off to the holidays.  Thank you to everyone who came out to join in the fun.

I want to extend a few thank yous to the people who worked to make the holiday campfire happen:
Thank you to Nancy for doing all of the hard background work to pull the event together.Thank you to Councillor Fletcher for hosting the event on our behalf and helping us with permits.Thank you to Tim Hortons for donating the hot chocolate.Thank you to Mia and Ryan for the music.Thank you to Pepper for her storytelling.  Thank you to Nancy, Wendy, Catharine, Geoff and Max for fire watching.    All of you help make our Friends of Withrow Park events a vibrant part of the community.

Book the evening of Friday February 4th in your calendars for our annual skating party.

JOIN US FOR A HOLIDAY SING A LONG AND CAMPFIRE

Join us for a holiday sing-a-long and campfire on Thursday, December 8th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the campfire pit in front of the field house.  We will have stories and songs to celebrate the season and hot chocolate to help keep us warm.

Dress warmly and bring a mug for the hot chocolate!

WITHROW PARK COMMUNITY SAFETY WALK - NOVEMBER 17

In July there was a community safety walk at Withrow Park to address concerns about park safety.  At that time an action plan was prepared.   

On November 17 at 7 pm meet with P.C. Rob McDonald, Division 55, Mark Hawkins, Park Supervisor, and Councillor Fletcher to assess the how the action plan was put into effect.  We will meet at the Withrow Park Club House.  Dress warmly- this is an outdoor event that will take place rain or shine.

This is a good chance to raise any safety concerns that you may have about the park and to see what progress has been made to date.  I hope to see you there.

WHAT A GREAT PUMPKIN PARADE!

What a great night!  We counted 227 jack o lanterns at the pumpkin parade and they were a beautiful sight.  The campfire was a great spot to gather and the kids had a treat with some Halloween stories by the fire.

Thank you to Councillor Fletcher for helping us to obtain the permit for the event.  Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy a wonderful evening in the park.  We will do it again next year!
