Holiday Campfire Cancelled

The weather is not cooperating.  We are cancelling our holiday campfire.  Thank you to Angela Mandalas for generously sponsoring this event and to the Toronto Choral Society-Children's Choir for offering to lead us in song.

We are so lucky to have such great friends who are joining us at our holiday campfire on Friday, December 20th!  

Our resident campfire story time leader, Pepper Ventresca, will be at our campfire to share some holiday stories.  Her stories are a campfire tradition that shouldn't be missed!

We are also lucky to be joined at this campfire by some members of the TCS Children's Choir.  The choir members will help lead us through some holiday songs.  What better way to ring in the holidays?

Bring a mug for some hot chocolate to help keep you warm.

See you at our campfire from 6:30-8:00 pm on Friday, December 20th!

Join us for a holiday campfire on Friday December 20th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  Holidays stories, songs and a fun evening with friends and neighbours.

Missed the last meeting and regretting it?  We are meeting again on Sunday, November 17th at 3pm at the Frankland Community Centre.

Friends of Withrow Park Meeting- Sunday, November 10. Let's Get Organized!

JOIN US AT OUR MEETING ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10

We have had an exciting year at Withrow Park.

• Our campfire pit has been refurbished,
• the City plans to renovate our north playground
• We have had many events including campfires, a skating party, an Earth Hour event, and a pumpkin parade
• We have mulched and adopted our new trees,
• We have worked with great partners including Dusk Dances, the Farmers' Market & Shakespeare in the Ruff.

Now it is time to think about the year ahead.  Join our discussion and help keep Withrow Park a vibrant part of the community.

Our meeting will take place on Sunday, November 10 at 3:00 pm at the Frankland Community Centre (816 Logan Ave.).  R.S.V.P. appreciated at friendsofwithrowpark@live.com.

Pumpkin Parade at Withrow Park 2013

It was another great night at the Withrow Park Pumpkin Parade.  An unofficial count has us at just over 400 pumpkins.  Here are some of pictures from our fun night with friends and neighbours in the park.  Mark you calendars for next year- November 1st is Pumpkin Parade night at Withrow Park!

 

 

 

 

A special thank you to all of the volunteers who helped us place the pumpkins in the bins at the end of the night!  Truth is...that might be one of the best parts of the evening- everyone had fun tossing pumpkins into the bin!

Also, thank you to Pepper for her great Halloween stories for the kids!

And finally, but not least, thank you to Councillor Fletcher for helping us to obtain the permits to make this event happen.
